PURVIS Systems Incorporated To Manage Cranston Fire Department Records Software

Cranston, RI, February 17, 2007 – Rhode Island based engineering and information management company PURVIS Systems Incorporated has been awarded a competitive Fire Department Management Software system bid from the City of Cranston to manage the daily operations of the fire department. PURVIS, which provides similar software for 33 Rhode Island municipalities, will support the Cranston Fire Department's systems including dispatch, personnel, equipment, apparatus, EMS, fire alarms and records, and fire prevention inspection.

PURVIS ENS is a secure web-based system that enables officers, first responders and emergency personnel to send and receive mass notification of an emergency within minutes. Should an emergency or a critical breech in security take place, RI Airport Police officials are able to create an alert and deliver it to multiple people with the push of a single button. Recipients will receive the message in the manner of their choosing, with the option of responding immediately, ensuring that no vital connections are missed.

"I believe our new Fire Department Manager Software Suite from PURVIS Systems Inc. will effectively streamline our operations and give us the tools necessary to provide a higher level of service to our citizens and community," said Deputy Chief Terry Brennan of the Cranston Fire Department.

PURVIS will apply its FD Manager Software Suite, which is an all inclusive record management system for fire and EMS departments. Included in the software suite is PURVIS' exclusive FD Dispatch, which was developed with the feedback from over 20 dispatchers. The system supports an unlimited number of call taker/dispatcher users and requires each call taker/dispatcher to login to ensure accountability for actions taken and documentation.

In addition, PURVIS will employ its Rhode Island certified Electronic EMS Manager software application. This application is an all inclusive EMS report-writing tool for fire departments and ambulance services. It allows users to generate and print reports and also enables first responders to directly submit reports from vehicles to hospitals. Users also can compile reports for submission to the Department of Health and third-party billing agencies.

"Because of our thirty plus years of engineering, design, and technical services experience with the Fire Department of New York City, PURVIS has gained recognition and credibility from other Fire, EMS, and Public Safety agencies across a number of states and their municipalities within the US," said Tony Gharios, Business Development Manager of PURVIS Systems Incorporated. PURVIS president John Desposito added, "The City of Cranston benefits from our experience and the expertise we have relied on from thousands of firefighters in the field."
