PURVIS Systems Allied Local Red Cross to Speed Response Time Through Emergency Notification System
PURVIS ENS enables Grand Canyon Chapter to contact Volunteers Quickly and Efficiently

Phoenix, AZ, November 17, 2008 – PURVIS Systems Incorporated, an IT systems and services provider for the public safety, emergency management and defense industries, today announced further evidence of its expanding presence in the State of Arizona with the American Red Cross Grand Canyon Chapter’s purchase of PURVIS’ Emergency Notification System (ENS). The Grand Canyon Chapter, which serves ten counties including Apache, Coconino, Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Yavapai and Yuma, will utilize the system to better serve the community by facilitating the quickest possible response times.
In an area where wildfires and flooding are a particular problem, PURVIS ENS, a secure system that enables key officials, first responders and emergency personnel to send and receive mass notifications rapidly, allows the Grand Canyon Chapter to quickly and easily communicate with its staff and nearly 1,000 volunteers, bypassing the traditional and time-intensive method of individual phone calls. The staff and volunteers are able to define their preferred methods of notification, including text message, email, phone call and fax.
“The Grand Canyon Chapter responds to nearly two disasters a day and a quick response time is imperative,” said Ken Krueger, Grand Canyon Chapter chief executive officer. “PURVIS ENS enables us to rapidly get the word out to our staff and volunteers allowing us to concentrate on providing the best possible assistance.”
With PURVIS ENS, users select their intended recipients, and with the push of a button, all of the recipients receive information in their predetermined format. PURVIS ENS also supports a conferencing feature, which enables conference calls to be made on-the-spot, allowing critical group decisions to be made in the moment ensuring no response time is wasted.
“Effective communication is critical in an emergency situation.” said Don Dupuis, PURVIS Systems, Inc. director of public safety. “We are pleased that the Grand Canyon Chapter of the American Red Cross has selected PURVIS to help them streamline communications as part of their emergency response efforts.”
